Dear Friends,

Praise The Lord of the harvest who sends laborers to the field through NYMM!!!

We, at NYMM are being pressured by our creditors to pay Php31K this month. We don’t know where to get the money. I stopped working which I used to do to support  the ministry. I have a mother who needs special attention due to dementia and diabetes.

Please help us pray for God’s provision on this matter. NYMM cannot move on because of this financial obligation. Instead of concentrating on following up the youth, we are focussed on looking for funds.

We thank those who have already responded to this need. It was dramatically reduced from Php120K since December 2006. We believe that God is faithful to provide the rest.

your co-laborer i n His vineyard,
Leah

Dear Kairos prayer movers:

I thank you for your ministry of intercession for us struggling leaders in the National Youth Missions Movement (NYMM). Even if we do not see you praying, we are counting on you to lift us up during this difficult hour. Our counterpart team in Bacolod certainly appreciates your prayers for meeting their financial obligations of more than P130,000 right after the congress. It has been reduced to P72,000! Nevertheless, they cannot do their full-blown evaluation as congress staff and organizers until they pay all their bills. And their numbers are dwindling because of this.

Based on the latest email I received from Leah Aguirre, our coordinator for NYMM in Bacolod, these are their prayer requests:

  1. They be able to pay all their debts within next week (Feb 12-16).
  2. Pray for Ken Atonson, the Congress chairman, and Leah Aguirre, their lead mentor, that they find ways to augment their own finances. Ken has to pay for a $2000 obligation that his parents left with him (they are missionaries in Africa now and Ken is the only family member left in the Phils) while Leah is suffering from menopausal syndrome. Her husband is also looking for a new place of work.
  3. Volunteers to do the follow-up of the delegates as they start categorizing the decisions and communicating with them. Many volunteered just for the congress and not for the movement. Pray that there will be congress volunteers who will still help with the follow-up. Many are students who are focusing on their studies and those who have graduated are pressured to look for a job.
  4. Pray for volunteers gifted in communication, administration and coordination to help in follow-up.
  5. Pray that they find an office where they can meet, discuss, make and file reports.
  6. Pray that God would bless the businesses and jobs of those who contributed financially to the congress preparations. Special mention goes to Ping Catalan. People like him have sacrificed their income and other resources in organizing the congress.

Thank you very much!

Joy

NYMM prayer requests for this year are:

Expansion of membership and more regular involvement in the Manila core team.

Exploratory talks with key people and influencers in Mindanao (a point person for every major city–Davao, General Santos, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Cotabato, Zamboanga)

Aggressive promotion and steady income from the book, “God’s Foot Soldiers”

Establishment of a committed core team in Cebu and in Iloilo that will spearhead youth missions events and prayer movements

Contextualization of a Global Prayer Team manual for campus and church

Coordination and preparation for the Manila core team’s short-term missions trip during the summer

More prayer and income-generating events this year

God bless you for coming up with a prayer website! NYMM badly needs prayer! Here are our immediate prayer requests:

NYMM-Bacolod led by Leah Aguirre has to pay more than P130,000 worth of financial obligations before the end of January 2007. Pray that they are able to raise enough funds by selling all the Tshirts, books and materials to Bacolod and Iloilo churches, groups and individuals. Pray, too, that those who pledged support to the NYMC would give to this immediate need.
NYMM-Bacolod to activate and effectively carry out their tracking plan for following up the 168 delegates that attended the NYMC last December. Pray that they coordinate well with NYMM teams in Manila, Cebu and Iloilo.

Those who attended the NYMC and expressed their desire to share what they learned with their churches, campus fellowships and youth ministries would immediately act on their commitments.

Improved communication between Manila and Bacolod teams for the next two months

Evaluation and celebration time for NYMC organizers, staff and the NYMM-Bacolod team
